Found in the arms of Boer and Boerberg described as a turner's instrument. A turner is an obscure term for a lathe (metal turning/spinning) operator. This term seems to be referring to a hand bowed primitive lathe. What would distinguish this visually from an archers bow is hard to say without seeing the mentioned families' arms.
